How to use it
- Pick blurred, white or crop.
- Drop your photo and check the preview.
- Download, then set it as your profile photo in WhatsApp.
Why WhatsApp cuts your photo
WhatsApp profile pictures are square, and chats show them as a circle. When you pick a tall or wide photo, WhatsApp makes you crop it to a square, which often cuts off people or heads.
Making the photo square first avoids that. The full picture sits in the middle, and the empty space is filled with a blurred copy of the photo or a plain colour. Keep faces near the centre, since the corners are hidden by the circle.
Questions
Will WhatsApp still ask me to crop?
It will show the crop screen, but because the image is already square you can accept it as it is and nothing is cut.
Does this work for group icons and other apps?
Yes. Group icons, Telegram, Signal and most profile photos are square too, so the same image works.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The resizing runs inside your browser with JavaScript, so the image never leaves your device. Once the page has loaded, resizing keeps working even if you go offline.
