    It is a popular frame and greeting-card print size. At 300 DPI that is 1500 × 2100 pixels.

    The tool converts inches to pixels using the DPI you choose, then writes that DPI into the file. Print software reads it and prints at the right physical size.

    Questions

    Why does a 5 × 7 print cut off part of my photo?

    A 5 × 7 print is 5:7, a little squarer than most camera photos. "Fit without cropping" keeps the whole picture with thin white borders.

    What DPI should I use?

    300 DPI is the usual standard for photo prints and gives sharp results. Some online forms ask for 200 DPI; change it under Settings and the pixel size updates to match.

    Is my photo uploaded to a server?

    No. The resizing runs inside your browser with JavaScript, so the image never leaves your device. Once the page has loaded, resizing keeps working even if you go offline.
