    Why HEIC photos get rejected

    iPhones save photos as HEIC by default because the files are smaller. Many upload forms, websites and Windows apps still only accept JPG.

    This converter runs in your browser. Safari opens HEIC directly; other browsers load a small converter the first time you add a HEIC photo. Your photos are never sent anywhere.

    Questions

    How do I stop my iPhone saving HEIC?

    Go to Settings > Camera > Formats and choose "Most Compatible". New photos will be saved as JPG.

    Is quality lost when converting?

    At full quality the difference is not visible. Choosing a KB limit lowers quality just enough to fit.

    Is my photo uploaded to a server?

    No. The resizing runs inside your browser with JavaScript, so the image never leaves your device. Once the page has loaded, resizing keeps working even if you go offline.
