    How to use it

    1. Choose "Crop to fill" or "Fit without cropping".
    2. Drop your image. The preview shows exactly what you will get.
    3. Download your 1080 × 1350 file.

    Where 1080 × 1350 is used

It is the 4:5 portrait size for Instagram feed posts, which takes up more of the screen than a square post.

"Crop to fill" scales the image until it covers the whole 1080 × 1350 frame and trims the edges evenly. "Fit without cropping" keeps the entire picture and fills the empty space, so nothing important is lost.

    Questions

Will Instagram crop a 1080 × 1350 post on my profile grid?

The profile grid now previews posts at 3:4, so a 4:5 image loses a thin strip at the top and bottom there. The post itself shows in full in the feed.

Which part of the photo is kept when cropping?

The centre. The image is scaled to cover the frame and the extra is trimmed equally from both sides (or top and bottom). If your subject is off-centre, "Fit without cropping" keeps everything.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The resizing runs inside your browser with JavaScript, so the image never leaves your device. Once the page has loaded, resizing keeps working even if you go offline.
