    What this page does
PhotoJPG, 20 KB to 200 KB
SignatureJPG, 20 KB to 100 KB, three signatures in one image
Live photoAlso captured during the application

These are the commonly listed requirements as of November 2026. Rules change between notices, so always check the official notification before you upload. The signature image is commonly listed as 350 to 500 pixels. Some guides list a 300 KB photo limit; the 20 to 200 KB figure is the one attributed to the 2026 notice.

    How to use it

    1. Choose Photo or Signature.
    2. Drop your image.
    3. Check the size is inside the range, then download and upload it on the UPSC portal.

    Preparing the UPSC signature

UPSC asks for your signature three times, one below the other, on white paper, scanned or photographed as a single image. Crop the photo so only the three signatures and a little white space remain, then use the Signature preset.

The preset keeps the file between 20 KB and 100 KB, turns the paper white and darkens the ink. If the file is below 20 KB after compression, it is raised to the minimum without changing the picture.

    Questions

Why is there a minimum size of 20 KB?

Very small files are usually too blurry to verify. If your image comes out smaller than 20 KB, the tool saves it at top quality and pads it up to the minimum.

Do I still need to upload a photo if there is a live photo?

Follow the current notice. 2026 applications list both a photo upload and a live photo capture.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The resizing runs inside your browser with JavaScript, so the image never leaves your device. Once the page has loaded, resizing keeps working even if you go offline.
