Questions
Why does COVA say my photo is the wrong size?
COVA checks the pixel size and file size as you upload. A photo larger than 354 × 472 pixels, or a file under 40 KB or over 120 KB, is the usual cause. The preset produces exactly 354 × 472 and keeps the file between 40 KB and 120 KB.
My file comes out smaller than the minimum. What happens?
Where there is a minimum, the tool first saves at top quality and then adds padding data that image viewers ignore, so the picture is unchanged and the file meets the minimum.
How accurate are these requirements?
No official figure was available; sources disagree. The presets use values that satisfy every version we found. Rules can change with each new notice, so compare with the official instructions linked on this page.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your photo and signature stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share a file by link. That matters for ID documents. If your device can't handle an image, the tool can shrink it on our server instead, but only if you agree, and it is deleted right away.
