    What this page does
Passport-size photoUnder 30 KB, JPG or JPEG. No pixel size is stated

Checked 2026-11-03. The official notice could not be read directly; values are those attributed to it by several sources that agree. The FPSC guideline PDFs could not be opened (certificate error); the 30 KB figure is quoted from both. Resizer sites add pixel sizes (200 × 230 or 200 × 150) and a background colour that FPSC does not state. Always check the latest official instructions before submitting.

    How to use it

    1. Pick the preset for the file you are uploading.
    2. Drop the photo or scan. Use Crop on its row to frame the face or signature first.
    3. Check the size shown under the preview, then download and upload it.

FPSC (CSS and recruitment): what to upload

Passport-size photo: Under 30 KB, JPG or JPEG. No pixel size is stated.

    Other rules to know

Use a recent passport-size picture. The same limit appears in the 2018 and 2025 versions of the FPSC online application guidelines.

    Questions

Why does the FPSC preset aim for 29 KB?

FPSC asks for a file "less than 30 Kb". Aiming just under it avoids a file of exactly 30 KB being rejected.

My file comes out smaller than the minimum. What happens?

Where there is a minimum, the tool first saves at top quality and then adds padding data that image viewers ignore, so the picture is unchanged and the file meets the minimum.

    How accurate are these requirements?

The official notice could not be read directly; values are those attributed to it by several sources that agree. Rules can change with each new notice, so compare with the official instructions linked on this page.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so your photo and signature stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share a file by link. That matters for ID documents. If your device can't handle an image, the tool can shrink it on our server instead, but only if you agree, and it is deleted right away.
